Carts

design

The design parameters for the Shen Tao cart were that it should be pleasant to touch, aesthetically pleasing, space efficient, and smooth and silent while in use.

They are easy to store away, and essentially invisible when not in use.

2nd gen Cart

The second-generation calf stretcher is constructed from three pieces of 1 and 1/8-inch thick red oak, designed for durability and performance. Each piece features a 3/8-inch round over and is sanded to 220 grit, then finished with five coats of hand-rubbed polyurethane for a smooth surface. The horizontal beam is wrapped with a sheet of black rubber nubs, enhancing its functionality for foot traction.

Weighing 3.75 pounds and measuring 14 inches by 5 inches by 5 inches, this calf stretcher is assembled using a glue and dowel method, which minimizes the visibility of metal hardware while maintaining a clean and aesthetic appearance.
