Pilates Barrel
design
The Shen Tao Barrel is a fresh interpretation of the Classical Pilates Barrel. The Barrel preserves the mechanical and spatial specifications of Joseph Pilates’ original design, while adding the ability to adjust the height and length of the equipment. It is lightweight, portable, yet stable. It can be used to perform all Classical Pilates exercises on its own, or it can be used in combination with any of the Cable Systems in the Shen Tao catalog.

The tubing and fixtures used for the frame of the Barrel are the same as those used for the Pilates Cadillac. The Barrel can be raised or lowered along the vertical axis. The ladder portion can be adjusted to any angle from 0° to 110°, moving it closer to or further from the Barrel. The Barrel is padded with a ¾” sheet of closed cell neoprene and upholstered in a faux leather fabric. It can be
assembled/disassembled in minutes using only a ¼” Allen key.
